The area has had an almost continuous link with shipping with records of ships being unloaded here as early as 1297. The construction of the docks cut the area off from the rest of Poplar and until Ballymore built the ‘red bridge’ over Bow Creek there was only one way in and out, which led to the area being known as London’s “lost village”.
Completed in June 2017, the marketing suite, housed in one of the few remaining buildings, has been conceived as a narrative journey that reveals itself as a sequence of spaces from palm grove to covered courtyard, ending in a dramatic panoramic view of the Thames.

The park is envisioned as a critical connector and people-magnet for the new Embassy Gardens housing development by the Ballymore Group. The kilometer-long green space is located at the center of this new development, which is a part of the larger Nine Elms development headed by the Ballymore Group and masterplanned by London architect Sir Terry Farrell.
